Our Volunteers Triple Trash Collection in Fall Cleanup
In spite of threatening rain the Adopt-A-Highway had a successful Fall clean up event. Ten volunteers contributed about 20 hours cleaning up various roads and parking lots near Glen Haven. In a new initiative about half the group selected park areas outside of the Glen Haven area tripling the amount of trash collected. Additional areas included the dirt road running along Lake Michigan in Good Harbor, Bohemia Road north and south of M22, Barr Lake Road, C651 going into the beach, an area around North Bar beach, and parking lots at the Visitor Center, within the Pierce Stocking drive and at several trail heads. This concludes the AAH dates set by the state; however, many of the volunteers make keeping park roads and parking lots a part of their park routine. The 2026 schedule will start again in April for anyone interested email Amy Selleck at amy@friendsofsleepingbear.org or register online here.
