There are many pale yellow
flowers 1-2" wide in a cluster. Each flower has 4 broad, yellow petals
with a blunt end, notched tips, and an X-shaped stigma. |
| Leaf |
Leaves are narrow and alternate
on the lower half of the stem. Leaves are rough to the touch and often
tinged with red along the edge. |
| Notes |
Stems are stout,
erect, hollow, and contain a milky juice. Fruit is in a green pod
container with lengthwise ridges. The flowers are pollinated by Sphinx
Moths at night. |
