Each plant has 1-2 fragrant,
muddy yellow flowers. Each flower is an inflated pouch, surrounded by
4 brownish purple (actually 2 petals and 2 sepals) which are twisted
appearing like a cork screw. |

Basal leaves, up to 8" long with
many deep parallel veins. Leaves are alternate and clasp the stem. |
