Height 0.5 - 3 feet
Flower Up to 20 yellow flower heads about 1" wide with 20 or more short petals forming a ray flower with outward curling green bracts. They exude a sticky gum-like resin.
Leaf Oval simple leaves, 1-2" long often with wavy or curled edges and coarse teeth, usually without a leafstalk.
Notes Gumweed originated in the American West and has expanded its range into our area. It is one of the first plants to grow after construction or in heavily grazed fields.
