4-petaled elongated clusters of yellow flowers. Petals form a cross.

Leaves are deeply cleft into one
large, rounded terminal lobe and several small rounded lobes. Upper
leaves are coarsely toothed. |
| Notes |
Fruit are thin,
erect, pod-like containers. Winter Cress is one of the first wild
flowers to bloom in the spring. The seeds are black and taste hot or
peppery. |
