Height 1-2 feet
Flower Many flowers on an upright spike.  They are yellow with an orange marking near the center of the blossom.  There is a thick, pointed spur at the bottom which contains nectar.
Leaf Leaves are thin, pale, grass-like 1-2" long and pointed at both ends.
Notes Plants spread by underground runners forming colonies of plants.  Butter-and-eggs was introduced from Europe and escaped from gardens.
