Flower Clusters of creamy white flowers composed of 5 petals with red centers.
Leaf Leaves are narrow and leathery and turn a deep red in the fall.
Notes The Sand Cherry is a shrub-like tree, and it would not normally be included in a wildflower listing, but it has been included here because it is a characteristic flower of the Sleeping Bear Dunes.  The fruit is a bitter, red, miniature cherry-like fruit that appear in mid-summer.  The trunks are reddish with white dots or streaks.
