Height 1-3 feet
Flower Flowers are conspicuous, up to 3" wide with single or a few flowered clusters.  5 Pink petals surround a central yellow disk supporting numerous stamens.
Leaf Leaves are alternate, pinnately compound with 5-7 leaflets on a short, smooth stalk.  Leaflets are oblong with toothed margins.
Notes Upper stems are smooth and thornless.  Lower stems may have a few slender thorns.  This is a low shrub.  The fruit (rose hip) is dry, red, smooth oval and not poisonous.
