Flower
Flowers consist of several large blue or violet flowers 2-4" wide. Each
flower consists of petals and sepals that are both the same general color.
Sepals are spread wide and marked at the base with a yellow blotch.
Petals stand upright and are about 1/2 the length of the sepals. Both
sepals and petals are strongly marked with dark veins.
Leaf
Leaves are long and narrow like a blade about 1" wide and 8-32" long that
arise from the base of the plant.
Notes
This flower is also
called the Northern Iris and is usually found along water, growing in clumps
of tall leaves with many flowers.
