Magdalena and Ole Olsen, parents of Charles.  Ole came from Norway when he was 16.  He landed in Northport with one dime in his pocket.  Magdalena was born on North Manitou Island, the daughter of fisherman Carsten and Elizabeth Burfiend, who later became the first settlers in Port Oneida.  Ole died in the great 1920 flu siege.  Magdalena came to live in “the little house” that Charles and Hattie built for her next door.  Circa 1918
