Charles and Hattie Olsen,
with the garage (now gone) and back of the house behind them. Charles loved
to go out on the shoals of Lake Michigan in the fall with his brother George
to set nets. They caught trout to salt and smoke for eating all year. The
men made their own boats. Hattie and her sister-in-law Vena said they were
fishermen’s widows. Circa 1935
