Camp Kohahna started on the Baker Farm. The Baker family
would move out of their house during summers, so the camp could take it over
for staff quarters and kitchen facilities. The family stayed in a
garage/workshop building Fred had hired neighbor Martin Basch to build.
Gradually the building was improved into this cottage. Lucille and Jack
Barratt later lived here when they first came back to live on the farm.
The camp girls stayed in tents and in "the long house", which
was a bunk house located southeast of the house. Eventually Camp Kohahna
bought property to the north from the Bakers and others, and moved to that
location.
