This was the last year the Port Oneida School was used as a school, before consolidation with Glen Arbor.   In winter the kids sledded down the hill behind the school.  "During the 15-minute recess you had all you could do to get dressed, get your sleigh up on top of the hill, & take one slide down before it was time to go in again.”

Note that all of these children’s surnames are still represented by existing historic farms around Port Oneida.
